It was thought that all 37/4's that were working down the North Wales Coast at the time would be affected!! As a result the following few weeks became a no-heat 37 fest with all sorts of engines mainly 37/0's working the trains!! Below is a record of some of these engines working what was probably the last stand for no heat engines on service trains. 37058 at Chester on the 1650 Holyhead to Birmingham - 29th May 1999. First up was 37077 seen at Chester on the 1450 Holyhead to Crewe (1K71) on the 19th May 1999. This particular engine was a real 'biggy' having not worked a passenger train for some time. It only worked a few trains and then it was gone!! 37131 at Rhyl on the 1423 Birmingham to Holyhead (1D75) - 15th June 1999. 37216 storms past Promised Land Lane near Chester on the 1721 Birmingham to Holyhead (1D82) - 26th May 1999. The star engine of this period; 37250 which worked more than any other engine stands at Chester on the 1503 to Crewe - 30th May 1999. 37298 at Bangor on the 1021 to Crewe - 1K61 - 29th May 1999. 37371 approaches Chester on the 1822 Bangor to Crewe (1K77) Bank Holiday Monday and 37377 is out on the 0810 Birmingham to Holyhead (1D62) seen here at Chester - 31st May 1999. and later at Holyhead on the return working - 1251 to Crewe. Some ETH engine were still working with 37413 drafted in from Scotland seen here entering Prestatyn on the 1423 Birmingham to Holyhead - 29th May 1999. What do you do on your wedding anniversary? Well you go to Llandudno Junc on 37517 and then are in the dog house for days after!!! Here 517 stands at Llandudno Junc on the 1721 Birmingham to Holyhead (1D82) - 27th May 1999. 37675 & 37429 on the Sunday 'jumbo train 1822 Holyhead to Birmingham New Street at Holyhead - 13th June 1999. 37698 at Bangor with the stock for the 1222 to Crewe (1K65) - 5th June 1999. Same train with 37798 approaching Chester.
